Flat Pack

Hiya! It's I, Nim. Have you ever tried a flat pack from Ikea?
In my house there lives a kenderfrau to come up with such a great idea!

She can do the easy peasy things herself and then.......

Then you destroy the Ikea manual!!!

OMG who sent you to help?

You have to keep a close eye.

Perhaps not that close.....

But you have to stay on top of things.

And the end result? Bor-ring!!!!

Groote Peel Walk

Flock of geese

Bunker from WW II

Yesterday we went for a long walk with friends in De Groote Peel.
If only they could live a bit nearer....... we could enjoy their company more often.
It's always good to see them and Abrikozeke.

Panorama

While we were walking we bumped into this tower.

Despite the grey weather we had a great view of the surroundings.

Raining

It has been raining cats and dogs!
We went for a long walk and we were both wearing a raincoat but our jeans got soaking wet.
It's sooo good to come home, put on some dry clothing, pour ourselves a glass
and settle on the couch with Nim :)

Pieces

Nim has broken my Jonsberg vase but there is a Dutch saying: shards bring luck :)
Enjoy your weekend or holidays!

Shelves

Bengals love to climb!
Already we placed several small shelves so Nim can reach the top of the cabinets.
I asked my friends on facebook to help me out with a couple of white birch trees :)
Now we're waiting for a sign so we can fit some flour-to-ceiling trees for Nim.

Christmas Decoration

With Nim around..... a beautiful christmas tree with glass ornaments is just no option.
These houses from basichus are a beautiful alternative.
Now we'll have to find us a tree :)

Healing Hedge

Finally we layed our first 7 meters of hedge today!
About 10-15 years ago we got interested in hedge laying.
It's a skill still practised in UK today.

We bought our plants for a mixed hedge row 5 years ago.
We wanted to plant these at the end of our backyard but we needed some extra time.
For the time being we planted them, quite cramped, in a temporarily spot.
Since two years the plants are planted in their final spot, growing higher and higher.
So we were in desperate need of some serious hedge laying ;)
We decided we wanted to do this job by ourselves but we realised we needed some practice first.
Today we started our course at (for sale) Buitenplaats de Bonenburg in Heerde.
According to our instructor in the UK they understand the "healing qualities" of hedge laying.

this photo is "borrowed" from someone

Every team (of two people) had to work his way through 7 meters of pricking Hawthorn hedge.
I assisted the kenderman with laying and weaving while he was doing the tough bit.
We had a great time, enjoyed our good company and loved the result!

Paper Monster

Nim is searching for a victim.....

I've created a monster by throwing some paper balls at her.
Our paperwork isn't safe anymore :)
